Atari and Virtual Programming have launched The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. The game includes a HD remastering of the previous game in the series, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Both games are prequels to the movies Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. The games feature the voice of Vin Diesel, reprising his role from the movies. Other voice talents include Lance Henricksen (Aliens), Wade Williams (Prison Break) and Michelle Forbes (Battlestar Galactica).
Virtual Programming has launched X3: Terran Contact, a space exploration game in the X Universe series. Players can choose from a number of unique characters and plotlines. The virtual world, set in the year 2938, features multiple races of beings, wealth accumulation, spaceship building and solar system exploration.
Virtual Programming on Friday unveiled Europa Universalis: Rome, a stand-alone game built on the Europa Universalis 3 engine, spanning the history of the Roman Empire from the first Punic War to the start of the empire. The game features a great deal of custom gameplay choices, such as country, culture, provincial, and character settings, offering unique experiences every time. Europa Universalis is available as a direct download for $40.
Virtual Programming has released Domination in digital download format, marking the sequel to its "Massive Assault!" game title. Players enter the universe of Domination to become part of the renewed global conflict between the Free Nations Union and the Phantom League on distant planets. The new game features land, sea, and air strategic warfare in a sci-fi setting. The game is priced at $30, and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
Virtual Programming recently unveiled an expansion to Crusader Kings, which it is calling Deus Vult, available as an digital download. Players are charged with creating medieval Europe's most powerful dynasty, from 1066 to 1453 AD. Gain prestige and increase the greatness of your lands and coffers. Build cathedrals and castles, and recruit vassal states, while battling traitors, introduce laws and taxes, and interact with hundreds of courtiers and nobles. Virtual Programming is selling Crusader Kings: Deus Vult for $20.
