Formal suit delayed amid private talks

Viacom and Time Warner are reportedly attempting to privately settle their ongoing legal battle over content streaming on Apple's iPad and similar devices. District Judge Leonard Sand has approved an agreement that effectively stalls the formal litigation process while the parties attempt to find a resolution outside of the court.

Move could marginalize Apple TV

Apple is reportedly considering changes to its AirPlay standard, which may be updated with support for video streaming. Unnamed sources familiar with the matter have told Bloomberg the company would continue to expand licensing agreements with hardware manufacturers, who would be able to take advantage of streaming movies, TV shows or other videos.

Wirelessly streams HDMI 1.3 video and audio

Gefen has released the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60GHz Extender, a new sender/receiver system that transmits uncompressed HDMI 1.3 video and audio to any remote display. The system features multi-antenna technology that enables 1080p video signals to be sent over a maximum distance of 30 feet. Also provided are four LED indicators on the front of both the sender and receiver units, indicating everything from power status to pairing activity and the strength of the wireless signal.

LG on Tuesday announced its LG-HB620T flip phone, which is capable of delivering streaming TV to users thanks to its Digital Video Broadcasting - Handheld (DVB-H) support. Thus far, only select countries in the European Union widely stream DVB-H content, which has become the European mobile TV standard.
