Samsung to bring moviNAND flash to smartphones
At a forum in Taiwan, Samsung announced it will soon switch to using high-performance 8GB and 16GB moviNAND embedded memory chips in its smartphones. The new memory will be the first to fully meet the latest JEDEC standard for embedded flash. The new moviNAND flash is more responsive than the previous chips thanks to a high priority interrupt and an improved ability to work in the background.

64GB moviNAND, 32GB microSDHC appear
Samsung today claimed a pair of its own firsts with improvements to its flash memory storage for smartphones and similar device. Its moviNAND memory takes advantage of the company's new 30 nanometer process to reach a record 64GB in a single package. The part stacks a full 16 thin, 4GB chips to reach the capacity and includes its own storage controller, even though the entire package is less than 0.06 inches tall.

Meizu M8 Launch Info
Meizu's long-in-production M8 phone could be available in a month's time, company head J. Wong has told visitors to its company forum (link may be broken as of press time). Although suspected of releasing in December, the M8 is now said by the executive to be nearing a launch in late October or early November. Pricing is less definitive but is now heading towards the equivalent of an unsubsidized $350 in the phone's home country of China following Wong's canvassing of the community for a price it would accept.
