Google has reportedly made significant changes to its search algorithms, driving down results that are clearly associated with file-sharing websites. The company appears to have blacklisted some of the most popular sharing sites, including The Pirate Bay, Btjunkie, isoHunt and TorrentReactor, along with locker sites such as FileSonic and FileServe.
The filesharing tool MacDrive 7 for Windows now supports the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, according to developer MediaFour. The application allows users to access Mac-formatted disks from their Windows desktops. Mac files are automatically assigned the proper icons and file name extension whether used on a Windows or a Mac, the company said.
SeeFile this week announced the latest version of its digital asset management (DAM) software: SeeFile 4.5, due next week, reduces the cost of deploying a graphical replacement for FTP servers, the company claims. The latest version offers improved performance on Mac OS X 10.5, automatic User Expiration for temporary access, the ability to share any volume or folder visible by OS, superior management of metadata fields, better support for video file formats, and support for a wide range of camera RAW formats. SeeFile runs as webserver software on any Mac, turning it into a "live" web server that provides a continuous view of all digital files saved on the hard disk.
