Fandango provides show listings through iPhone

Fandango for iPhone

Fandango has announced an iPhone application that provides access to movie and theater information. Users can view schedules and purchase tickets for more than 16,000 screens in the US. In addition to the show listings, users can browse upcoming titles, watch trailers, read synopses and view fan ratings. The program also offers a favorites menu that can be used to save local theater locations for quicker access.

UFSD chosen for FCP Digital Cinema Package drives

UFSD allows Ext2/3 drives

Paragon Software's Universal File System Driver (UFSD) has been chosen for use in the QuVIS Wraptor Digital Cinema Package for Apple's Final Cut Studio. The Mastering plug-in for Final Cut will allow users to create a digital cinema content distribution Ext2/3-formated hard drive. UFSD technology was developed by Paragon to provide cross-platform access to volumes of major file systems (ext2/3, HFS+, NTFS, FAT32) under multiple platforms like the Mac, along with Windows and Linux. The UFSD format, embedded into the Wraptor plug-in, allows Mac users to deliver an industry standard hard drive for distribution.

Epson ships Ensemble home cinema systems

Epson today announced it released two complete home entertainment systems, with the Ensemble HD 720 and Ensemble HD 1080 systems. Either is capable of throwing up high definition images on a 100-inch motorized screen that is part of each package courtesy of Epson's PowerLite 3LCD three-chip HD projector. As the product names suggest, the projectors are the main difference between the two packages, with the former capable of 720p (1280x720) HD images, the latter of 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution video.
