Second-gen Apple Peel 520 now shipping for $89
The previously leaked Apple Peel 520 case for the iPod Touch has now began shipping in China. The second-generation device will attach to an iPod Touch and give it all the features and then some of an iPhone 4. These include calling, accessing 3G data networks and adding a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to two devices.

New Apple Peel 520 adds data access, slims down
A new, upcoming Apple Peel 520 case has been spotted in a YouTube video (below) originating from China. Like the original, the new one turns an iPod touch into a phone thanks to its SIM card slot, but this time around a GPRS data network connection is also present. Also as before, the iPod touch needs to be jailbroken and special apps from Yosion loaded onto it to enable either phone or data functionality.

Apple Peel 520 case with SIM card now shipping
Go Solar USA has began shipping its Apple Peel 520 case for the iPod touch in China. Introduced at the start of September, it promises to turn the iPod touch into a full-fledged smartphone. Manufactured by China's Yosion, the case has a built-in battery that extends life by 4.5 hours, a Dock Connector and SIM card slot.

Third-party skin adds calling, texting
A third-party device for the iPod touch that adds voice calling and text messaging will be coming to the US market soon. Go Solar USA has announced a deal with Chinese accessory maker Yosion to distribute the Apple Peel 520 in the US. The skin fits over the iPod touch's case and adds a SIM card, battery, and Dock Connector along with apps to handle phone calls and messages.
