Xtreamer, maker of media streamers and home theater PCs, has teased its first phone with a YouTube video and a sign-up page. The Xtreamer AiKi is a five-inch Android handset which, according to the video, will have Ice Cream Sandwich installed with root access enabled, along with the claim that it will "reinvent smartphone pricing."
Xtreamer has announced that its Prodigy media streamer has been revamped with a variety of new features. The device is now claimed to be the first media player to support 3D video streaming via HDMI 1.4, while the new UI takes advantage of HTML5 and PHP/SQLite standards for third-party developers. The interface is said to closely resemble the HTPC experience on computers.
Xtreamer has just introduced a new media streaming hub called the Prodigy. The advanced device sports a Realtek 1185 chipset and has USB 3.0 ports. A sharp break, however, is its unique combination of seemingly conflicting technology. It combines an Adobe Flash-based user interface with support for Apple's remote AirPlay streaming as well as Mediafly, Google Talk, Netflix, Last FM, Pandora and Facebook, among others.
Xtreamer, maker of home theater devices such as an iPad dock with room for hard drives, has now introduced a portable budget home theater PC, the Xtreamer Ultra. Highlights of the small device include a dual-core, 1.8GHz Atom paired with NVIDIA's Ion 2 graphics processor and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. There are six USB ports, an HDMI and DVI output, eSATA port, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet and an IR eye for the included remote control.
