Smaller display, body in ZL2, keeps processor, RAM, rear camera
Sony has launched the follow-up to its Xperia ZL in Japan. Where the original effectively copied the Xperia Z and slimmed the device down, the Xperia ZL2 performs a similar trick with the Xperia Z2, switching out the 5.2-inch 1080p display for a 5-inch version in a smaller body, but still manages to keep similar specifications to its full-size counterpart.
Choice of 4G, 3G options, includes dedicated camera button
Sony has opened up online pre-orders for the Xperia ZL to customers in the United States, ahead of a retail release. Available in a 4G version with a 3G-only option expected shortly, the Sony smartphone that Electronista tried out at CES in January can be ordered through Sony itself, with an estimated shipping date of the 8th of April.
Sony brings new Android flagship
Sony continued its five-year tradition of Xperia smartphone introductions at CES, unveiling the Xperia Z and ZL at the 2013 expo. Electronista had a chance to handle the new Android handsets at the end of the company's high-profile press conference.
