LightSpeed 2.7 update
Xsilva Systems on Wednesday unveiled LightSpeed 2.7, a major update to its point-of-sale system for the Mac, which adds compatibility with QuickBooks Accounting 2009 for Mac, among other features. Users are able to now send POS data from LightSpeed to QuickBooks to simplify the accounting process. LightSpeed also ensures that duplicate entries do not populate in QuickBooks, with full history and archiving. LightSpeed 2.7 is available starting at $1100 with a tech support package.

LightSpeed 2.6 update
XSilva Systems on Tuesday unveiled LightSpeed 2.6 and Web Store 1.3, updates to the company's retail point-of-sale management system, both of which include improvements to features and functionality. LightSpeed now offers clothing retailers an expanded Product Matrix, while the Browser can now supports exporting. A new network-aware Auto-Updater keeps data consistant, and the app's Point of Sale and Browser windows have improved functionality.

Xsilva Lightspeed at MWSF
Montreal-based Xsilva Systems demonstrated LightSpeed 2.5 at Macworld Expo this past week, showing users how the software works with touchscreen computers. CEO Dax Dasilva guided MacNN through the workings of LightSpeed, pointing out the iPhone-like functionality of Cover Flow integration. Users can browse through products or customers using Cover Flow, giving retailers a visual overview of their database. Licensing for LightSpeed 2 starts at $750, and is available through Xsilva's online store.
