Sleep helper attempting to overcome early problems
Despite early problems surrounding the WakeMate sleep helper, the device has been improved with new software features on the associated iOS, Android and BlackBerry apps. The company has reportedly achieved better accuracy for the wristband battery meter, while providing a deeper level of sleep analytics. Customers can also choose to purchase a larger wristband, if the original design is too small to wear comfortably.

WakeMate faces USB power brick recall after launch
WakeMate has sent out a warning that its new sleep helper device's USB power charger was defective. A notice to customers explained that there was at least one instance of the brick catching fire. Every user was asked to stop using the adapter immediately and return it, although the company stressed that the WakeMate itself was safe and that charging from a computer would work.

WakeMate finally near shipping for iPhone, Android
WakeMate late Sunday confirmed that it was ready to ship its long-planned, self-titled sleep helper add-on. The combination of special wristband and mobile app should ship in time for Christmas Eve for both initial pre-orders and anyone who orders at overnight rates before 11PM on December 22. International orders aren't yet going out due to the approval process and supply issues.

WakeMate intros smart alarm for BT handsets
In an attempt to help users get a better night's sleep, a company called WakeMate has introduced a product that will pair with the iPhone and other Bluetooth handsets to detect a user's sleep patterns and wake them up within a 20 minute window that is said to be the most efficient and healthy for the body. The wrist band is an actigraph and will infer the wearer's sleep pattern and circadian rhythms based on motions.
