Verizon Wireless is overhauling its price plans, in a bid to be clearer to customers. Starting from August 13, the carrier is changing how it charges for its wireless service, separating out the data and charging per connected line, and requiring customers of the new price plans to also acquire a device in a separate payment plan, a scheme that bears some resemblance to competitor T-Mobile's plans.
Verizon Wireless is currently undergoing a serious outage affecting its payment systems, according to customer reports on Twitter. The widespread issues, affecting customers of the carrier over the last 24 hours, is leaving subscribers unable to make online bill payments and is preventing some from being able to upgrade their devices or activate lines on the network.

Transit Wireless today announced that Verizon Wireless' voice and 3G and 4G-LTE data services are now available in New York City subway stations.
