First Android/LTE phone to hit Europe
Vodaphone will soon launch Europe's first smartphone to support both Android and LTE in the continent's first real adoption of 4G. The carrier has confirmed that it will soon begin shipping the HTC Velocity in Germany, with other countries arriving soon afterwards. It represents a white colored variant of the HTC Vivid being sold in the US by AT&T, and elsewhere as the Raider.

Velocity launches V103
Velocity Mobile on Wednesday announced its first touchscreen cellphone, the Velocity 103, is now available for sale. The smartphone, along with the V111, was introduced earlier this year, and uses a custom Odyssey interface on top of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. The quad-band device's software can be navigated via what Velocity claims is a simple to use 640x480 touchscreen. Software updates will also be simpler to download through a Velocity Over The Air (VOTA) program.

Velocity Mobile launches
A neophyte cellphone maker, Velocity Mobile, has announced its first-ever Windows Mobile phones. Each of the two use the newly-unveiled Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and are quad-band GSM/EDGE phones with access to HSPA 3G broadband. Both are also equipped with 128MB of RAM and 256 of ROM, and wireless technologies including GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi receivers. To complement this, the phones have two-megapixel still and 0.3-megapixel video-call cameras, with support for extended storage on microSD cards.
