Sony has revealed new devices in its Vaio line of computers, including two normal Ultrabooks, and one Ultrabook with a sliding screen. The Vaio Pro ultrabooks come with 11-inch and 13-inch displays, while the previously leaked Vaio Duo 13 uses a sliding mechanism to raise its 13.3-inch screen, similar to its predecessor, the Vaio Duo 11.
While criticisms about the radical redesign of Windows 8 have persisted since its introduction, it has been very much responsible for ushering in a wide range of really interesting PC hardware designs. One of these is the Sony Vaio Duo 11, which is an integrated hybrid design that marries a tablet experience with a notebook-like experience. However, as with just about every piece of new Windows 8 hardware that I can think of, the Vaio Duo 11 is better at handling one aspect of the Windows 8 interface than the other without quite nailing both properly.
Images have emerged of a hybrid tablet-notebook device soon to be released by Sony: the VAIO Duo 11. Pocketnow has uncovered pictures of the new device, which appears to be an ultrabook with a sliding mechanism allowing it to convert into a tablet. The device appears set to compete with Microsoft's Surface tablets, as it also incorporates pen input, though it is uncertain whether it will launch within the same time frame.
