Ultrasone intros $1,300 Signature Pro headphones
German high-end headphone maker Ultrasone has just unveiled one of its more advanced earpieces in the Signature Pro set. Meant for use by musicians, sound engineers and audiophiles, the handmade headphones sport a 40mm titanium-plated driver developed by Ultrasone engineers.

Ultrasone outs open-backed PRO 2900 headphones
Ultrasone has released its latest headphones, and the first it offers with an open-backed design as well as in more than one version. The PRO 2900 can be had as a standard, single-cable version and a balanced, double-cable version built to provide a "transparent" quality that avoids excess bass or treble. The Balanced set is paired with a balanced amplifier to boost performance by doubling the slew rate and voltage swing power.

Ultrasone's high-end home headphones reviewed
Germany's Ultrasone typically scales to the upper echelon headphones. The HFI-2400 headphones are Ultrasone’s flagship consumer model with an official price of $330; while expensive, it's a bargain compared to pro and DJ products that retail for twice as much. No matter the model, Ultrasone’s claim to fame is its S-Logic natural surround sound, which it equates in video parlance to the difference between watching a movie in 2D versus 3D. It all sounds very impressive -- pun intended -- but we'll find out how well it works in our review.
