Back in the olden days, when you retired from a company after working in the same room for 40 years, they would present you with a watch. It was always ornate, expensive, luxurious, and a tacit reminder that since you're never coming back to the company, your need to know the time is somewhat reduced. Apart from the implicit sarcasm of the gift, the tradition could continue now with the TwelveSouth Forté instead of a watch. Accessory maker Twelvesouth has released a new version of its BookBook case for MacBook, the Rutledge Edition. Available for MacBook Air and MacBook Retina, the Rutledge is tailored from premium-grade leather, and features two hardback covers with a rigid spine, much like an old hardcover book. The case protects one's laptop with a soft padded interior, and includes dual zippers that keep BookBook closed. Pricing starts at $100, with all size versions of the Rutledge BookBook case available for purchase through Twelvesouth.
Boutique accessory maker TwelveSouth, which specializes in Mac and iDevice accessories, has revealed its new BookBook case for the iPad mini. The new BookBook for the iPad mini follows on from the original BookBook designs, which were inspired by comments made by the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs about making a computer like a book. When zipped and enclosed the BookBook protective leather case gives the appearance that the user is carrying an old novel.
