Khronos fashions StreamInput standard for touch
Khronos today established a standard that would provide a common platform for touch and motion controls. StreamInput would be a royalty-free programming interface for not just touchscreens but haptic (vibration) feedback, motion sensors like the PlayStation Move or Wii remotes, and even depth camera systems like Microsoft's Kinect. Augmented reality apps, games, and others with advanced controls could keep every device in sync and use extensions to easily add new methods as they come about.

Free MMORPG offers synchronous gameplay
Responding to popular demand, Sony Online Entertainment has partnered with TransGaming to bring the family-friendly virtual world adventure game Free Realms to the Mac platform. Mac users will join 14 million registered Windows players in synchronous gameplay, a first for SOE.

Game features online multiplay, four game modes
Paramount and TransGaming have announced a December release for a Mac version of Star Trek: D-A-C. The new game is a top-down space shooter game pitting Starfleet against the Romulan Empire, supporting online multiplayer for up to 12 players, online co-op and single-player gameplay. Gameplay options include survival, team deathwatch, conquest and assault. Defeated ships offer new abilities and score pick-ups in survival mode, while conquest and assault gameplay involve attacking or defending sectors of space.

C&C: Red Alert 3 for Mac
TransGaming has launched the Mac version of its Command & Conquer: Red alert 3, real-time strategy war game. After being previously released for Windows last year, the game takes place in an alternate history of Earth, where the Soviet Union has gone back in time and assassinated Albert Einstein before the creation of technologies, in order to weaken the Allies power. The assassination is successful, but in doing so, a third world power has now risen up called the Rising Sun, and poses a threat to both the Allies and Soviet Union.

Puzzle Quest coming soon
TransGaming and D3Publisher have joined forces to bring Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords to the iPhone and iPod touch platforms. The game combines RPG strategy play and puzzle-solving elements across a story line. It features over 150 quests, and acquirable skills, weapons and spells throughout the game. The game was originally developed by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. and published by D3Publisher. It is currently available on PSP and Wii, among others, and is being customized for the iPhone by TransGaming.

Transgaming game portal
TransGaming has announced the launch of an online download portal for Mac games, bringing the same kind of service PC and console owners have known for years. Game Tree Online will complement the firm's Cider Portability Engine, which has allowed publishers to port a number of successful games to the Mac Platform since its introduction in 2006. In addition to providing online purchase, Game Tree Online will provide news and game promotions, and will allow users to post reviews.

You can also set the preferences to open a new or existing Catalog upon launch, set a font, and choose white or horizontal stripes for the background window. You can also choose a detailed view or choose the type and creator view.

Puzzle Quest for Mac
Transgaming today announced the release of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for Mac, a puzzle-based open-ended RPG. In Puzzle Quest, players can either do puzzles directly, or play an RPG-themed version, where they must collect items and experience to progress farther in the game. In the puzzles, players match three of a kind of different objects which either gives them money, experience, mana, or the ability to attack the opposing creature. Puzzle Quest is available for $20.
