Microsoft builds an ultra-compact mouse for Win 8 tablets
Hitting store shelves just ahead of the Windows 8 launch, the new Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse ($70) has been designed to accompany the raft of new and upcoming Windows 8 touch-based tablets. However, it will also work just as happily with Android tablets as well as Apple’s Mac computers pairing over Bluetooth. Electronista has had some hands on time with the Wedge Touch Mouse using it with the Microsoft Surface RT tablet we recently reviewed.

Gesture control, glass touch surfaces added to peripherals
Logitech has shown off two new mice and a trackpad designed with Windows 8 in mind. The Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650, Touch Mouse T620, and Zone Touch Mouse T400 do away with physical buttons for the most part, instead replacing them with touch-sensitive areas for scrolling and gesture controls.

Surprise mouse blends Arc, Touch features
A tip from a commenter at Pocket Lint revealed a previously-unknown pointing device from Microsoft, the Explorer Touch Mouse. The sighting of the Explorer Touch Mouse at a UK trade show may be the first time the device was even mentioned in public. Like the Arc Touch Mouse, the Explorer Touch Mouse replaces the scroll wheel found on most mice with a touch-sensitive strip. Unlike the original Explorer Mini Mouse, the Explorer Touch Mouse can be customized for either right-hand or left-hand use and has a total of five programmable buttons.
