Sony Ericsson's Nozomi has been given its first live outing in an iAndroid sighting that has since gone down. The phone, now thought to be called the Xperia Arc HD, earns its name from the very sharp 4.3-inch, 720p screen that will put it on par with the HTC Rezound and other rivals. Also seen were a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, likely a Snapdragon, that was enough to get a moderately fast 1,800-point Quadrant benchmark score.
Sony Ericsson's third device introduction tonight in Barcelona brought the Xperia Neo. It drops the slider keyboards of the Play and Pro but is Sony Ericsson's first Android phone with a front camera. Android 2.3 gives users the option of snapping photos or video with the back and a quick toggle to flip between the two on the spot.
Sony Ericsson had two phones besides the Xperia Play to show off at its event, headlined by the Xperia Pro. The device is a messaging-first phone intended for both frequent texters and workers with a sliding QWERTY keyboard that works intelligently. Popping open the keyboard will automatically queue up key events, such as replying to an e-mail message or typing out a message to a friend, Facebook or elsewhere at a new home screen widget.
