TEAC on Thursday announced the release of its first tabletop dock radio with HD Radio support. Besides improved audio quality, HD Radio support gives listeners on-screen artist and title information from the roughly 2,000 stations in the air. The HD-1 also sports a dock for charging and playing music content from iPods and iPhones. The artist and song information also enables the iTunes Tagging feature, which lets users save the information of a song they like and find the track the next time the Apple device syncs with iTunes.
TEAC Japan has recently introduced a 2.1-channel home stereo system, the TD-X300i, which includes an iPod dock and CD drive, as well as built-in AM/FM radio tuner with 10 station presets. The system will play back MP3-encoded CD-Rs and CD-RWs via its flat-panel, NXT speakers. The subwoofer has a 4-inch diameter and is rated at 15W, while each speaker is rated at 5W of power.
TEAC recently unveiled the inCore Audio ZE-1000 headphones that use high-definition drivers to provide rich and lifelike sound. TEAC claims the headphones provide a full range of audio, and provide superior sound isolation due to a five-layer cushion around the driver. The speakers use a balanced armature, which reportedly gives natural dynamics to sound, and layers of textures and subtleties. TEAC did not mention pricing or availability for the inCore Audio ZE-1000 headphones.
