A new drone from 3D Robotics aims to steal the thunder of DJI's recent launch, with a simple-to-fly aircraft that adds something new to the in-flight videography market. The Solo is a prosumer drone that offers a number of functions that other high-end drones provide, but it is claimed to be the first to have complete control over the settings of mountable GoPro cameras.

While the device is bulkier than most of its all-in-one competition, unlike its competition, the Maingear Solo 21 can be specified with a Thin Mini-ITX motherboard that will also users to upgrade to future Intel chips that will be built on a 22nm process. It centers on its namesake 1080p 21-inch monitor that can also be configured with an optional 10-point multi-touch display.
PlayBook confirmed for Bell through Source flyer
Page four of the latest online flyer reveals that the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will soon be sold at The Source. What this also means is that Bell will carry the tablet, as the chain is owned by the Canadian carrier and only advertises and carries devices for Bell, Virgin and Solo Mobile. Exactly when the RIM tablet will arrive or what it will cost isn't being revealed, however.
Pearl 9100 to cost $450 at Bell, Rogers in Canada
The BlackBerry Pearl 9100, a version of the Pearl 9105, is due to launch soon at Canada's largest carriers according to leaked inventory screenshots. Screens from Bell and Solo as well as Rogers and Fido inventories also reveal pricing for the handset, at $450 CAD (about $451), without any subsidies.
Bell Buys Virgin Mobile CA
Bell on Thursday said it had bought up the remaining stakes in Virgin Mobile Canada, taking complete control of the prepay-heavy carrier. The takeover is mutual and is labeled by Bell as part of its attempt to take the lead in the Canadian cellphone market. The Virgin label will continue to exist separate from Bell but will reportedly have streamlined operations, including a shared network and the ability to get the same phones as Bell.
US Ceullular handsets
Wireless provider US Cellular is soon due to get a number of handsets added to its range, including the HTC Touch Pro and BlackBerry 8230 Pearl Flip smartphones as well a number of more mainstream models. The Touch Pro, which is currently available at Sprint and Verizon, will be released on Friday, April 17th, according to a Wednesday
PhoneArena report. It features a 2.8-inch touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera and sliding QWERTY keyboard, as well as Windows Mobile 6.1.
Fido Makeover Soon
Canadian cell carrier Fido is poised for an overhaul that will change its role in the market, a claim by purported sources of the Financial Post says. Under this new strategy, the Rogers sub-brand would more closely compete with Telus' Koodo, Bell's Solo and Virgin Mobile with an emphasis on lower-cost plans and a wider selection of phones than today's selection, which is partly a subset of Rogers' own lineup. Among other changes, the controversial $7 System Access Fee would be dropped to reduce the practical monthly rate.
Bell, Solo holiday line-up
A Monday report from BGR lists upcoming handsets Canadian wireless provider Bell and Solo Mobile will launch in time for the Christmas shopping season. The same report alleges Bell will sell a Motorola handset in 2009 running the Android OS that debuted in the T-Mobile G1. Apart from Bell getting a slew of handsets that include such high-tech smartphones like the BlackBerry Storm plus HTC's Diamond and Touch Pro, the provider will also introduce new plans.
