Sleek and 50 Cent end partnership on headphones

Headphone maker Sleek announced that it has cancelled plans to collaborate with rapper 50 Cent on a headphone line, as announced at CES in January. The Sleek by 50 brand will therefore not see the light of day, with 50 Cent's G-Unit Brands and Sleek parting ways. The stillborn first product was expected to be a $400 wireless set of headphones that had a cord for when the battery was drained.

Sleek Audio shows SA7 flagship earbuds

Sleek Audio on its Facebook page has confirmed a new set of high-end in-ear headphones in the SA7. The new flagship replaces the SA6 and retains its user-adjustable VQ system for adjusting treble and bass. The body is new, however, and machined from a single block of aluminum with a carbon fiber shell attached with titanium screws. Inside the body are dual balanced armature transducers surrounded by silicone that are said to be capable of absorbing up to 14,000 Gs of force, eliminating the fragility sometimes associated with earbuds.

Sleek SA1 earphones have rosewood body

Sleek Audio on Monday launched its wooden SA1 in-ear headphones which can be tuned and worn either as wired headphones or wirelessly. The SA1 set has 6mm drivers housed in a Siam rosewood body. Thanks to Sleek's optional Kleer wireless system, the wires can be detached and users can listen to music wirelessly. Frayed, pinched or otherwise damaged wires can be replaced anytime.

Sleek and Kleer adapter

Sleek Audio and Kleer have collaborated on bringing a wireless music streaming adapter for use with Sleek Audio’s SA6 in-ear headphones. The Sleek Wireless adapter uses Kleer’s 2.4GHz radio link, which is said to achieve 10 times more battery life than a comparable Bluetooth headset, to deliver CD-quality sound. The adapter replaces the cable of the headphones by plugging into the SA6 earphones‘ 3.5mm stereo jack, and features a built-in battery rated for 10 hours of listening time, outlasting many of the source players’ battery ratings.
