Skullcandy Gaming was present at Seattle's Penny Arcade Expo over Labor Day weekend, allowing gamers to experience its specific brand of gaming headsets. As part of its presence at the show, booth visitors were able to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection ahead of its launch, while talking about a new entry in the Skullcandy Gaming line. The company teased a development of its recently-unveiled collaboration with 343 Industries, a new Halo-branded Slyr headset.
Pebble has updated the iOS version of its smart watch app, one which introduces support for iOS 7 notifications. The update, which allows for updates from a host of watched services to be pushed to the Pebble display, also introduces support for Bluetooth LE, which will lower the amount of power used by the smartphone and the Pebble when communicating.
Skullcandy has launched its first wireless gaming headset, one that the headphone manufacturer announced at the release of the SLYR. The PLYR2 is a platform-agnostic pair of headphones with microphone that will work with the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Mac, PC, and mobile gaming platforms, and claims to offer a "high quality audio performance" to match its styling.
Skullcandy has put three new gaming headsets online for order. The aptly-named SLYR, PLYR 1, and PLYR 2 headsets all appear to be taking on characteristics of lines from recently-acquired Astro Gaming, but also add in the unique style that Skullcandy is known for, including bright colors and a striking design.

Freestyle Audio and Skullcandy have together introduced the first devices to use color mirasol displays. The still rare technology uses conductive plates to reflect light and change the wavelength to produce different colors in many small elements that make up each individual pixel. As the approach not only doesn't require a backlight but actively reflects ambient light, the displays are both very thin and power efficient but also near-perfectly visible outdoors, making them ideal fits for technology used outside. The small size also creates very sharp output compared to large LCD or even OLED pixels.
