D-Link has unveiled a number of routers at CES, targeted at travelling users and gamers. The SharePort Go II portable router creates a Wi-Fi hotspot from any Ethernet connection, while the AC 1300 Gaming router, AC1750, and AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Cloud routers are more stationary pieces of networking equipment.
D-Link is adding another Wi-Fi sharing product to its mobility range. The SharePort Go portable hotspot uses Wi-Fi to quickly turn any Internet connection into a hotspot, It can allow any USB drives connected to also be accessed, effectively turning flash drives into temporary network-attached storage.
D-Link is shipping its SharePort All-in-One travel router. The self-contained unit plugs into a wall socket without any additional wiring, and allows for USB charging and shared disk access along with temporary Wi-Fi network creation while travelling, similar in both shape and function to Apple's previous version of the Airport Express. Additional free apps allow for using it as a mobile-based media server.
