Samsung Galaxy S III battery life tests compare favorably

Galaxy S III places near top in two of three tests

The crew over at GSMarena have got their hands on Samsung's Galaxy S III smartphone and tested its battery performance. They came away impressed, comparing it to the performance of 31 other handsets in the process. The 2,100mAh battery managed to provide 10 hours and 20 minutes of 3G talk time on a single charge, placing fourth and behind the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX and Samsung's own Galaxy Note and Wave 3 S8600, in that order.


HTC Sensation 4G, XL next on Android 4.0 update list

HTC has announced that its Sensation 4G and Sensation XL smartphones are the next to receive updates to Android 4.0. The company already committed to upgrading a long list of handsets, however the release timing has been slow to emerge.

WP7 cousin to Sensation XL

HTC brought two of its largest smartphones to CTIA, the Titan and Sensation XL. Electronista took a close look at the Titan, which serves as the Windows Phone counterpart to the Android-based Sensation XL. Both handsets share the same essential hardware, centering around an enormous 4.7-inch display, though the Titan lacks the XL's white housing and Beats branding.

Less than a week after HTC officially unveiled the Sensation XL, the company allowed Electronista to explore its new handset lineup at a special event for the CTIA expo in San Diego. The XL's hardware is mostly familiar, as the device serves as a big brother to the Sensation XE and an Android adaptation of the Windows Phone 7-based Titan.

HTC invites Beats-themed event in London

HTC UK has issued an opt-in event invite on Facebook to the launch of HTC with Beats Audio. It's happening at the Roundhouse in London on October 6 and will include performances from Fedde le Grand, Martin Solveig and an unknown headliner. It's expected HTC will use the opportunity to officially reveal the Sensation XL/Runnymede, the Vigor smartphones, or both.
