Viber updates iPhone app, features iOS 7 redesign
Calling and messaging app Viber today has announced an update for its iPhone app, featuring a redesign for iOS 7. Viber facilitates free world-wide calling and messaging over a Wi-Fi or 3G connections to other Viber users, with calls made to non-Viber landlines and mobile numbers possible at low rates. Viber v4.2.0 features a revised aesthetic to compliment iOS 7, and the added ability to send up to 10 photos and videos at one time, to reduce redundancy in file transfer. Users can now send longer video messages, and contacts can see when a user is typing a message to them from an Android tablet, Linux, Mac, PC, or Windows 8 device. Viber is free to download through iTunes for devices running iOS 6.0 or later.
Skinny evolves for third-gen iPad
STM may be better known for its bags than its cases, but it is one of a select group of companies making upgraded -- rather than tweaked -- cases for the third-generation iPad. One of the two it's currently selling is the Skinny 3, a mostly straightforward folio design. In our review, we'll see if the case can compete with some of the other folio options on the market.
STM bags, container, more
STM this week unveiled three new case products for Apple portables and accessories – the Slip, Sort, and Raincoat. The slip is a briefcase-style bag with optional shoulder attachments, and allows the user to compute with the laptop in the unzipped bag, as it holds the device in place. The Slip is available for 13-, 15-, and 17-inch laptops, with various color combinations. STM did not release pricing for the product, but has a list of resellers on its website.
