The crew over at GSMarena have got their hands on Samsung's Galaxy S III smartphone and tested its battery performance. They came away impressed, comparing it to the performance of 31 other handsets in the process. The 2,100mAh battery managed to provide 10 hours and 20 minutes of 3G talk time on a single charge, placing fourth and behind the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX and Samsung's own Galaxy Note and Wave 3 S8600, in that order.
AT&T used the lead-in to Mobile World Congress to bring out a new phone and a pair of new services for users. The just recently spotted Samsung Rugby Smart both upgrades the Rugby line from its basic feature phone roots and gives AT&T a toughened Android option. It can survive the US military's 810F standards for dust, shock, and temperature, as well as splashes or full immersion in up to a meter of water for half an hour.
The first images of the upcoming Samsung Rugby Smart phone due at AT&T have been shared by PocketNow. The entry-level Android phone is now believed to be codenamed Sigbin and should have 512MB of RAM onboard, HSPA 3G support, and Android 2.3.5 preloaded. A 1,650mAh battery should be inside.
