Formula One comes to OS X with adrenaline fueled simulation, challenging gameplay
When gamers have ever wanted to get into the seat of a race car without spending millions of dollars to do it, they've turned to games to get the experience. From NASCAR, dragsters, rally cars and everything in-between, gaming has covered much of the realistic side of racing. What about players, however, that want a game that touches on simulation aspects, but pushes them to gain a little as a tenth of a second each time around the track? Codemasters' F1 2013 is the title that will set the pace for a proper racing experience.
Superb graphics add realism to off-road racing
Feral Interactive has ported over Codemasters' well-regarded off-road racing game, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 to the Mac and is accepting pre-orders for the game's release, which comes on Thursday, July 21st. Utilizing nine locations around the world and a bevy of officially-licensed rally cars and other off-road vehicles, the game puts players behind the wheel with exceptional graphics and dynamic handling.
Game app supports Game Center 16-multiplayer games
Firemint has announced the sequel to its Real Racing game for the iPhone, Real Racing 2, which is scheduled to arrive next week. The latest edition of the popular auto-racing game for iOS will feature 30 licensed cars and an expansive 16-car grid against the AI. The game offers career-mode play, covering over 10 hours of game time across a range of events. In addition to the career mode, gamers can play in Quick Race or Time Trial modes, along with local multiplayer, with up to 8 players, or online multiplayer with a maximum 16 players. Game Center support, Cloudcell integration and multiple profiles are all onboard in version 2.
