FxFactory adds new subtitle plug-in

Noise Industries has added a new plug-in to FxFactorty that can be used to add permanent subtitles to Final Cut Pro, Motion, Premier Pro, and After Effects projects. The new plug-in, dubbed SUGARfx Subtitles, includes support for a variety of fonts, and is capable of handling hundreds of languages, as well as importing several subtitle formats. A free trial of the plug-in can be downloaded online, while a full license costs $49.

TheNextWeb launches UDID check utility

Dalet has released a new module that provides workflow collaboration between the Dalet Media Asset Management tool and Adobe Premier Pro CS6. Dalet Xtend allows users to connect directly to a Dalet database and view all available content, such as clips, raw video, and sound bytes. The software also makes it possible to trigger specific events, such as review and approval processes, when saving against a placeholder. At the time of writing the product page is inactive, but the software is expected to be demoed at the IBC Exhibition on September 7.

PluralEyes for Premier Pro beta

A new version of Ntractive's Elements CRM app for iOS devices featuring universal iPad and iPhone support and a redesigned interface has been released. The mobile app is based on the Elements CRM desktop software and allows users to view invoices, e-mail documents, and more. The app is a free download but requires an Elements CRM subscription and mobile activation add-on. Small Business pricing starts at $25 per user per month, Professional pricing starts at $50 per user per month, and Elements CRM Mobile add-on pricing starts at $10 per user per month.


Red Giant announces Radium Glow plug-in suite

Red Giant's Radium Glow

Red Giant Software has announced Radium Glow, a new 3D glow simulator that goes beyond simple blurring effects. Instead of just adding simple blur, the software gives pinpoint control over the glow effect and has edge effects, masking and output functions. The three included plug-ins add neon-style effects and can be combined with Red Giant's Trapcode Particular (the company's separate 3-D particle plug-in) and other plug-ins to give sparkle and shimmer effects. Radium Glow is available now for $100 and works with on Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later, on After Effects, Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, Motion and Avid AVX.


NAB: Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 supports Sony XDCAM EX

Premiere adds Sony format

At NAB Adobe also announced native support for the Sony XDCAM EX camera format in its Premiere Pro CS3 video editing and production software. Premiere Pro delivers a file-based workflow without transcoding or rewrapping, providing a software-only, tapeless High Definition (HD) workflow—from capture to output. Adobe will demonstrating the Sony XDCAM EX editing workflow during The 2008 NAB conference at booth SL3220.
