W16 and W16SK bring inexpensive 3D to the classroom
Epson today introduced two 3D projector solutions designed to enhance the learning experience in classrooms -- the PowerLite W16 and W16SK. Epson is offering two 3D projection choices, with one based on active 3D technology and the other on passive 3D technology. Both deliver three times brighter colors than most other offerings aimed at education, allowing 3D content to be easily viewed in typical classroom settings. Both the PowerLite W16 and W16SK deliver WXGA (1280x768) widescreen resolution and supports multiple HDMI 3D formats out of the box, with no external converter required.

New projector aimed at new home theater users
Epson America today expanded its line of 3LCD home theater projectors with the 3LCD PowerLite Home Cinema 750HD. The new projector is tailored for families and first-time home theater enthusiasts as an affordable 2D and true 3D big screen entertainment solution. The Home Cinema 750HD is Epson’s brightest home theater projector to date -- projecting up to 3,000 lumens of color and 3,000 lumens of white brightness for dark or light rooms. Offering full HD in 2D or active shutter 3D with 720p resolution, the Home Cinema 750HD simplifies display of movies, videogames, sporting events, and other media.

2D-to-3D movie conversion, split screen built-in
Epson has issued details of new projectors it is bringing out in the near future. The PowerLite Pro Cinema 6020UB, Home Cinema 5020UB/5020UBe, and 3020/3020e are all 3D-capable projectors that offer a full HD resolution, and also feature built-in 2D-to-3D conversion of movies and a split-screen mode allowing users to watch two different 2D sources simultaneously.

Epson to add 720p, 3LCD home theater projector
Epson on Tuesday added the PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD to its lineup of 3LCD home theater projectors. It offers 720p resolution at screen sizes of up to 120 inches. It can produce 2,800 lumens of brightness, and users have a choice of four pre-set color modes to pair the projector with various viewing environments.

Epson to ship PowerLite X15 in May for $600
Epson has just unveiled its latest business projector, the PowerLite X15. The design is intended for small- and medium-sized classrooms and businesses, and sports 3,000 lumens brightness. The native resolution is 1024x768, and a captioning decoder is built-in.

Epson shows four new educational projectors
Epson on Tuesday introduced its new PowerLite D6000 series and the PowerLite 1850 projector. The former includes the PowerLite D6150, D6155W and D6250, all of which tout high brightness and a dust-resistant design that helps them achieve long lamp life. All three have an electrostatic filter that is said to last 10,000 hours and a lamp with a 5,000-hour life rating.

Device sends images or alerts over a network
Epson has released the PowerLite Z8050WNL, a projector designed for use large venues. The device is the company’s brightest projector offered, featuring 7,000-lumen output and 1280x800 resolution. The three-chip '3LCD' technology is claimed to improve power efficiency and vibrant colors.

Epson intros PowerLite 1830 and 1915
Epson on Tuesday catered to its bread-and-butter audience of meeting rooms and mid-size classrooms with a pair of 3LCD projectors. The PowerLite 1830 and PowerLite 1915 both have relatively high brightness levels of 3,500 and 4,000 lumens respectively. They also both output at 1024x768 and carry dual VGA inputs as well as Ethernet jacks for remote control and USB to play directly from a Windows PC.

Epson outs five projectors
At the currently ongoing Infocomm show in Florida, Epson took the opportunity to showcase five new projectors to add to its lineup. This includes the PowerLite Presenter combo device, the PowerLite 1925W and the budget buyer-oriented PowerLite S7, 79 and W7. The PowerLite Presenter is meant for in-classroom use and also contains a DVD player and two built-in 10W speakers. The 3LCD projector sports a 1366x768 resolution, 2,500 lumens of brightness and closed captioning capabilities. A USB connection sends multimedia content to the PowerLite Presenter instead of VGA video and audio connections.

Epson 410W projector
Epson on Monday announced it will soon add the PowerLite 410W projector to its line-up of classroom projectors, which is due to replace the current 400W (pictured) when it launches. Both short throw, widescreen 3LCD projectors share the same 1280x800 native resolution, filling out the 16:10 aspect ratio of most modern notebooks. Changes from the older model center on a shorter-throw lens that lets the 410W create a 60-inch, 16:10 image from just two feet away. To improve its usefuleness in small classrooms, the projector also gets a wall-mounting option.

Epson PowerLite projector
Epson has recently introduced a new flagship home theater projector, the PowerLite Home Cinema 6500 UB, which sports a native 1920x1080 resolution and a significantly improved 75,000:1 contrast ratio along with 1,600 lumens of brightness. To achieve these numbers, Epson used its 3LCD Crystal Clear Fine D7 chip that includes an HQV processor and a PW390 scaler for creating sharp images. Aimed at home theater aficionados, the 6500UB includes HDMI 1.3a connections for integration into existing setups.

Epson PowerLite HC 700
Epson today rolled out a late entry into HD projectors. The PowerLite Home Cinema 700 is claimed as the first 720p projector to crack the $800 mark and comes one dollar under while still carrying much of the expected feature set of otherwise very high-end units. The lamp in the 3LCD unit outputs at 2,000 lumens and comes with a 1.2X zoom lens that can throw an image as large as 270 inches and as far as 28.6 feet away.
