Google showed off three Android-powered mobile devices at today's event, alongside the new Chromecast dongles. The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are smartphones produced by Huawei which Google will be shipping in the near future, while the Pixel C is Google's first Android tablet it has built end-to-end, with the search company applying what it learned from its Chromebook Pixel notebooks to the tablet format.
Where was this yesterday? We were in our car –– properly and correctly in a car park, we would never edit photographs on the Interstate –– and needed to do a tiny bit of work on an image that we'd forgotten to do earlier. Sometimes it's very handy getting to hide behind the third person: we were daft forgetting to do that image, we were daft forgetting to bring our iPads. If this were just about 18 hours later, we could've used the new Pixelmator 2.0.1 on our iPhones.
Google has unveiled its first premium Chromebook with a touchscreen, confirming previous rumors and reports. The Chromebook Pixel, the name itself leaked through a promotional video for the device on YouTube, has a 12.85-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2560x1700, with a pixel density that Google claims is the highest of any notebook, at 239ppi.
Google may be creating a Chromebook of its own, if a promotional video for the device is confirmed as real. The Chromebook Pixel would in theory have a 2560x1700 resolution display with multitouch, running on Chrome OS, and is claimed by the tagline "Designed by Google. Down to the last pixel."
