Windows XP support expiry to marginally help PC sales next year
Shipments of personal computers are set to drop even lower before the end of the year, continuing the ongoing trend for the PC industry as a whole. New figures released by IDC predict that overall PC shipments will decline by as much as 7.8 percent in 2013, with it set to go down by a further 1.2 percent in 2014.

Logitech Cube does double duty as mouse, presenter
Logitech has introduced the Cube for Mac or PC, combining some of the functions of a mouse with a presenter. The device is not much larger than a Zippo lighter, and will fit comfortably in a shirt pocket. In mouse mode, a user can use swipe gestures across its main panel to scroll down a slide using Logitech’s FlowScroll tech.

CopyTrans Photo released
CopyTrans has announced CopyTrans Photo for transferring photos between iPods and Windows PCs. The software allows two-way transfer, allowing users to not only carry photos uploaded from a PC, but also to download photos off an iPod onto other PCs. CopyTrans Photo supports drag-and-drop file transfer and works with any photo-capable iPod, including the iPod Touch and iPhone models. It works with Windows XP and Vista, and costs $50.

ASUS PX24 Full HD PC
ASUS on Monday revealed its Mini PC Nova Lite PX24, a computer it claims is the world's smallest to offer 1080p, or full HD, playback capability thanks to a dedicated graphics card. Combined with its compact 9.5 by 7.2 by 2 inch size, low 26dB sound levels and touch-button interface, ASUS hopes the PX24 will find its way into living rooms as a high-performance home entertainment center in a small package.

Fanatec Porsche wheel
A German accessory maker, Fanatec, says it has developed a new gaming wheel in collaboration with the country's most famous sports car builder, Porsche. The 911 Turbo Wheel is based on Porsche's most popular vehicle, and includes not just a wheel but a 6+1 gearshift, along with gas, brake and clutch pedals. Force feedback is provided by three different motors, and the wheel's handle is covered in "automotive-grade" leather.

HP's new AMD business PCs
HP on Monday added two new desktop PCs for business users to its range, with the Compaq dc5850 and Compaq dx2450. The two are some of the first HP PCs to use AMD's triple- and quad-core Phenom X3 processors. The latter is the value-oriented offering, and can be configured with a choice of AMD processors, ranging from the 2.1GHz Sempron, through the 2.8GHz Athlon and to the 2.5GHz Phenom. Four memory slots allow for expansion up to 4GB while NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards are offered as options. Operating systems are Windows offerings that include a range of Vista and XP Professional interfaces, as well as FreeDOS.
