TiVo may have tipped its hand and revealed the next generation of its digital video recorder, according to the company's third-quarter results briefing. The device maker says that it has made a deal with the cable TV industry that will let TiVo's hardware tune any signal that supports the OpenCable standard in both directions. This will allow an upcoming DVR to access video-on-demand services and other features that have previously been impossible to implement in the past, the company says.
