Streams to include 500 hours of live coverage
Google is streaming the 2012 London Summer Paralympic Games live on YouTube. Over 500 hours of live competitions accompanied by real-time commenting will be available to viewers in the US and Canada through the ParalympicSportsTV channel, in lieu of sufficient viewing options through other broadcasters.

Usain Bolt wins most talked about on service
Twitter saw more than 150 million tweets about the Olympic Games during the events. Statistics released today by the microblogging service shows sprinter Usain Bolt of Jamaica topping both the biggest moments of competition in terms of message volumes, as well as the list of most talked about athletes at the London 2012 games.

Velocomp unveils iBike Moto iPhone motorcycle mount

The mount is made of machined aluminium by motorcycle specialist Techmount, attachable to the handlebars and capable of swiveling 360 degrees. Apps mirror information and feeds provided by BBC website
As expected, the BBC has launched several mobile apps that will offer live streams from the London 2012 Olympic Games. Available for both iOS (Free, App Store) and Android (Free, Google Play), the apps will mirror the information and streaming content offered by the BBC website to UK-based users throughout the summer events.

Apps intended as 'second screen', complements TV coverage
NBC and Adobe have unveiled apps for the network's coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The standard NBC Olympics app will give medal counts, schedules and other statistics on the games, while the NBC Olympics Live Extra app will offer live video streams to users of all 302 events across the 32 sports. The apps will be available in separate smartphone and tablet editions for both Android and iOS.

International Olympic Committee to run 10 live feeds of games
YouTube will be streaming the London 2012 Olympic Games to countries in Asia and Africa. The International Olympic Committee's (IOC) YouTube channel will be streaming various live feeds from the games, allowing potential viewers the chance to see the events in countries where it may not normally be broadcast. The countries list, including 42 Sub-Saharan African territories, was made public yesterday on the official Olympic website.

UK national broadcaster adds online simulcast to Olympic coverage
The BBC has explained how it will cover the London 2012 Olympic Games. The home-nation broadcaster will stream 24 live feeds in HD to cover every event, matching the increase in video feeds for digital broadcasts in the UK during the event.

Wants to be ready to help journalists
Apple is quietly stocking its London stores with extra and international parts (such as replacement keyboards) to help cope with the expected "onslaught" of international journalists, many of whom use Apple products, coming to cover the 2012 London Olympics. The event, scheduled for July, is expected to see over 10,000 international print journalists as part of the 325,000 daily visitors coming to London for the games, reports TUAW.

Unveils 2012 Olympics' mobile pay app with Visa
Samsung has launched two new initiatives to encourage the usage of NFC mobile payment solutions. The phone and tablet maker has unveiled its official mobile payment app for the upcoming 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games in London later this year. Samsung also announced that it will work with FeliCa to design NFC compatible chip solutions supporting mobile wallet apps for mobile devices in Japan.

Content to be aired on BBC HD channel
The BBC has reportedly committed to broadcasting some of the London 2012 Olympics Games in 3D. Events to be aired in 3D include the Olympic Opening Ceremony, the closing ceremony, the men's 100m final, and the nightly highlights program, among others.

Will offer special phone with NFC for London event
It has been confirmed that Samsung will follow the tradition it started with the 2008 Beijing Olympics and offer a special edition phone to commemorate the upcoming 2012 games in London. The confirmation came, not from Samsung, but from Visa, an official sponsor and sole credit card processor for the London event. Visa is trying to make the games a "contactless" experience for its attendees.

China blocks iTunes
The Chinese government is now blocking access to the iTunes Store as a result of pro-Tibetan content, writes the Sydney Morning Herald. The regime recently learned that Olympic athletes have been downloading an album called Songs for Tibet, with tracks by artists like Moby, Sting and Suzanne Vega. While in support of "peace-related projects" associated with the Dalai Lama, the album is also a form of protest against China's 1950 invasion of Tibet, and its continuing suppression of political and religious freedoms.

Lenovo IdeaPad U8
Using its home country's Olympics as a springboard, Lenovo has announced the IdeaPad U8, a new mobile Internet device (MID). The device is equipped with a 800MHz Atom Z500 processor, 1 to 2GB of RAM, and a 6GB solid-state drive. It also has twin cameras, and includes at least one USB port, which lets it access mobile TV through supporting tuner add-ons. It is unknown if other peripherals might be compatible.

Lenovo Olympic Notebook US
Lenovo this morning helped kick off the Olympic torch run with its first international edition notebook commemorating the trip to Beijing. The Olympic 3000-series V200 adds the company's "Cloud of Promise" design previously shown only for China to the company's home-oriented 12-inch portable, adding red with silver clouds to the normally black design. Specifications are unavailable should fit in line with one of the stock V200 models, which starts out with a 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo, 1GB of memory, and a 160GB hard drive.
