UK Nexus 7 to have little content at launch

07/05, 7:30pm

No music, magazines, TV shows due to rights

When Google's Nexus 7 tablet launches later this year in the United Kingdom, it will apparently have to do so without anything in the way of music, magazine, or television content. The Guardian has found out that the search giant hasn't secured the distribution rights necessary to sell content in the UK through its Google Play Store. That means that Nexus 7 buyers will have to wait a while before watching or listening to content on their new tablets.

EXIF data points to Google/Asus-produced Nexus 7 tablet

Photo from Nexus 7 posted on Picasa, taken down

A single image posted earlier today to photo-sharing site Picasa appears to confirm the existence of the much-rumored Nexus tablet. The photo has since been taken down, but EXIF data captured before its removal tags the device that took the photo as a Nexus 7. The EXIF data supplies further evidence that Google will soon release an as-yet-unannounced seven-inch tablet developed in collaboration with Asus.
