High number of AF points gives Samsung NX1 15fps continuous shooting capability

Samsung has launched its rumored mirrorless camera at Photokina. The NX1 extends the NX range with a 28.2-megapixel BSI APS-C sensor combined with an updated NX AF System III, an autofocus system using 205 phase-detection points and 209 contrast AF points, with the camera able to perform continuous shooting at up to 15fps while tracking focus.

Samsung adds Wi-Fi to 2012 mirroless camera range

Samsung has revealed three new mirrorless cameras for its 2012 lineup of NX cameras. The NX1000 ($699), NX210 ($899) and NX20 ($1099) all arrive utilizing the APS-C format, incorporate a 20.3-megpixel CMOS image sensor, can capture 1080p video and have an ISO range up to 12,800. Each model also now includes Wi-Fi for sharing of photos directly from the camera, wirelessly.

The site managed to snare a pre-production version of the camera, which looks like it takes style cues from Samsung’s popular NX11. Samsung today brought out details of five lenses for the NX swappable lens system found on cameras like the NX11. The company is catering first to everyday users with an 18-200mm, f3.5-6.3 long zoom lens to cover most shooting situations with a single lens. While image stabilized, it won't have a silent autofocus system and is likely targeted at newcomers who want an all-purpose lens.

Samsung NX100, new lens leaked out

Samsung's previously alluded to NX100 camera has been confirmed by forum posts showing official press photos. The camera will be its smallest mirrorless interchangeable and slightly thinner than the Panasonic GF1 in return for being slightly wider. Also in sight at DPReview is a new 20-50mm f3.5-5.6 lens that would give it just 2.5X zoom, but a shorter footprint when the lens is attached.
