Mustek today unveiled the PF-E700 digital photo frame, a seven-inch TFT LCD that features a built-in alarm clock, indoor temperature gauge, and snooze functions. The display is measured at 480 by 234 pixels, and accepts a wide range of multimedia cards, such as SD, SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick Pro Duo, and Compact Flash. In addition to photos, the PF-E700 can also play MP3 files, and movies that are saved in AVI and MPEG formats. Mustek will ship the frame in April at a price of $150.
Mustek today signaled its contribution to this week's PMA photography expo. Officially titled the AF-A950PS, the new digital photo frame is designed as much for rooms where music and videos are important as the photos themselves. By using NXT-made flat-panel speakers built into the frame, the A950PS can play MP3 audio at relatively high quality without disrupting the look or the size of the device. The 9.5-inch, 800x480 screen also has enough performance behind it to play AVI, Motion JPEG, and XviD videos at full speed.
Mustek plans to stand out at the Consumer Electronics Show with the introduction of the PF-i700, its latest-generation digital photo frame. The new 7-inch display will be one of the few to find room for an iPod dock; cradling the Apple player in the frame will not only let users display images from the iPod but also play music and movies courtesy of stereo speakers and a minijack for outputting sound to headphones or speakers. The setup reportedly eliminates the excess cabling of a TV setup while also providing the portability of a photo viewer.
