Microspot Ltd., makers of various CAD programs for the Mac, have announced 25th anniversary editions of MacDraft Professional and MacDraft Personal Edition v6, major new versions of the original MacDraft program first released in 1985 to compete against Apple's MacDraw.
Microspot has released an update to its 3D-modeling application for interior and product designers, Interiors Professional 4.1. The latest version includes tools that allow users to edit walls from any view. The height, thickness, position and length can be adjusted. Floor plans can be imported from other CAD programs, providing an outline to draw the walls and quickly create a 3D scaled model. After the walls are established, the plan can be removed before adding doors, windows and floors.
Microspot today unveiled MacDraft 5.6.4 in both Professional and Personal editions, its 2D drafting and technical illustration software, adding installers that take advantage of several Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard technologies. The new version features installers for both QuickLook and Spotlight, allowing users to quickly search for, and view, their documents. MacDraft 5.6.4 is a free update for existing users, while new users can buy MacDraft starting at $130.
Microspot has announced the release of Microspot DWG Viewer 1.6.6, a new Universal version of its popular 2D AutoCAD file viewer. The application allows users to view, annotate and print AutoCAD DWG Files on a Mac. In addition to the "Universal" application, the company said the update brings better support for the AutoCAD 2007 file format. DWG Viewer is an application based on Microspot MacDraft Professional that opens AutoCAD DWG files created on Windows PCs. Users can open the Layouts as well as the Model; it enables them to show, hide or grey the individual layers and zoom in and pan around the document.
