MIUI 4 gives Kindle Fire users a taste of ICS

MIUI 4 has arrived for the Kindle Fire. The custom UI gives users an iOS-like interface, however retains the much improved Ice Cream Sandwich experience. However, in order to install the ROM Kindle Fire users will need to root their device and flash the new ROM, which will remove any trace of the tight Amazon integration in the standard Kindle OS.

MIUI custom Android ROM reaches E4GT

The MIUI Android custom ROM has made its way to Sprintís Epic 4G Touch. A variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II, a userís Epic 4G Touch must first be rooted for the MIUI ROM to work, although installation comes with all the usual caveats including voiding a userís warranty and even the possibility of bricking the device. As the video below shows, the popular MIUI interface gives Ice Cream Sandwich an iOS-like interface with the slick Ice Cream Sandwich experience retained.

HP TouchPad gets alpha build of MIUI Android

Stable release brings Gingerbread to HP tablet

HP TouchPad owners who snapped up the tablet during August's fire sale or this week's eBay auction of refurbished units may soon be able to run a fully functional version of Android on the device. A preliminary version of a MIUI ROM for the tablet, which normally runs webOS, has been posted on the XDA Developers' site. The alpha version of the ROM is reported to be relatively stable and offers most of the core functionality of Android 2.3.

Brings core Ice Cream Sandwich goodies to phone

Samsung Galaxy S II owners can now run the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS on their handset. A post at XDA-Developers has provided an image that updates the Galaxy S II firmware to Android 4.0 with a MIUI ROM. This gives users, or at least AT&T Galaxy S II owners, a fairly complete Android 4.0 functioning phone.

MIUI launches phone with customized Gingerbread ROM

MIUI phone originally thought an iPhone lnock-off

Chinese ROM manufacturer MUI is launching a smartphone that features a customized version of Android Gingerbread. The original rendition on the company website gave the impression that the phone was very close to an iPhone 4 or Samsung Galaxy S II in appearance. That now appears to be inaccurate.
