Apple has released maintenance updates to its digital audio workstation software, Logic Pro and Logic Express. Version 1.3 of both programs resolves compatibility problems related to hyper-threading on certain Intel systems.
Apple on Thursday night released version 9.1.1 updates for Logic Express (138.8MB) and Logic Pro (191.9MB). The patching focuses on extending 64-bit support and, in Logic Express, adds support for 64-bit native mode. as well as compatibility with 64-bit Audio Unit plugins. Other fixes in Express allow support for file names longer than 32 characters and proper sample mapping when Contiguous Zones is used in the EXS module.
Apple on Monday released an update to its professional audio production software that’s part of Logic Studio, Logic Pro 9.0.2. The software delivers tools for studio and stage production, including the ability to record, edit and mix song tracks, as well as import or share projects with other users. The latest update is said to improve overall stability, provide I/O and TDM plug-in improvements, and delivers several bug fixes and enhancements.
Apple on Tuesday released Logic Pro 8.0.2, an update to its professional audio production software released last September as part of Logic Studio. The comprehensive suite of professional tools provides tools for studio and stage production. Apple says the update addresses specific customer and compatibility issues of Logic Pro 8.0 and includes Wavebuner 1.5.2 and Impulse Response Utility 1.0.2 and recommends it for all Logic Pro 8.0 users. Apple's tech note describe dozens of fixes and updates, including addressing startup issues under Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard. Apple also said that users will have to update the Logic Node application on connected computers as well (the updated Logic Node installer called Logic Node 8.0.2.dmg will be in the Utilities folder). The 135MB update is available on the Web (requires AppleID) or via the Software Update.
