Apple and Google work on iOS and Android wearables
Both Apple and Google are working on wearable devices that would be be companions to or even replacements for their smartphone platforms. Leaks from inside Apple claimed to the New York Times that a "very small group" of those on its campus were using prototypes that could send information back to an iPhone or other device. One of the more exotic ideas was a supposed curved-glass iPod that would use Siri for some of its commands.
Sony Ericsson releases LiveView fix update
As promised over a month ago, the update for Sony Ericsson's LiveView remote display has now been released. It can be downloaded from the company's update service application and more information on it can be found on Sony Ericsson's support page. The software brings with it improvements to the stability in the phone app, better plug-in handling and connection stability. The number of installed plug-ins is also now higher, at 30.
SE promises LiveView connection fix in January
Sony Ericsson on its blog this week admitted issues with the connectivity of its LiveView Bluetooth micro display with handsets other than Sony Ericsson's own. The matter is now being addressed by Sony Ericsson developers, and a fix is expected through the company's Update Service in January. Other minor fixes will be part of this update, including within the LiveView Application in the phone, though they weren't detailed.
