Jaybird has revealed a pair of wireless headphones that it claims to be the smallest the manufacturer has ever produced. The Freedom Bluetooth earphones are premium audio accessories that use an all-metal housing for the earbud itself to remove distortion that plastic equivalents can create, while its over and under secure ear fitting system uses silicone ear fins that make contact with a number of areas of the ear to keep them firmly in place.
Logitech is continuing its expansion into the headphone market with the planned acquisition of Jaybird. Jaybird, best known for its sports-oriented Bluetooth headphones, follows Logitech's previous acquisition of headphone maker Ultimate Ears. With the acquisition, Logitech has also moved into the wearables market, with Jaybird's Reign fitness tracker also responsible for attracting Logitech's interest in the Salt Lake City, Utah based company.
Accessory producer JayBird is joining the fitness tracking market with its own wristband. The Reign is able to keep tabs on steps and general activity and synchronize over Bluetooth with an app on an iOS or Android device, much like other fitness trackers available today, except that it is also capable of suggesting to users whether they have a healthy lifestyle.
Aftermarket water protection provider Liquipel has started working with JayBird to offer some of its products with the hydrophobic coating already applied. The partnership comes at the same time as Liquipel announces the availability of its Liquipod Tower, a self-contained machine that allows for retail establishments to offer the treatment to their customers.
Jaybird has started shipping a new enhanced version of its JFS3 Freedom Bluetooth Headphones. The company had quietly been selling the JF3 since April but went silent as it implemented a fix for early complaints. The enhanced version now includes silicon ear cushions for a more secure fit.
