New version has auto filing, updated interface
Ironic Software has released an update to its document management software, Yep 2.0. The utility provides document organization tools geared for small businesses and individuals. Users can also create new documents by simply dragging text into the interface. Yep supports tagging and works independently of a database, using the Mac's Spotlight, Quick Look and Time Machine technologies to track documents regardless of their specific location.
Leap 2.0 launches
Ironic Software has added a new search engine and revamped interface to its updated file-browsing software, Leap 2.0. Version 2.0 eliminates the use of databases, enabling expanded scalability and faster performance. The update uses the OpenMeta metadata standard, allowing users to tag and rate files without changing the contents of the file. Apple’s Spotlight and other metadata search tools support the OpenMeta standard.
OpenMeta for Mac
Ironic Software has announced OpenMeta, an open source document-management standard for Mac OS X. Companies can use the standard as a way to organize the storage of files a system, with metadata including tags, dates, ratings, people or other attributes. The Spotlight search tool can then be used to search for the stored documents. The company has also developed several free OpenMeta tools including Tagger, an application that allows tagging and rating of documents, and Omtool, a command line utility.
