Yoga tablet to shift weight internally to feign lightness

Lenovo will be hoping to build upon its IdeaPad Yoga product line by introducing a Yoga tablet, according to rumors. The convertible notebook line could be joined by a pure tablet sometime later this month, one which is apparently able to shift its center of gravity via some sort of internal mechanism, so that it can appear to be lighter to hold.

Microsoft facing uphill battle with Windows RT

The list of vendors opting out of Windows RT has added one more major manufacturer with news that Lenovo has dropped its IdeaPad Yoga 11. Windows RT has been plagued by a poor user reception with manufacturers either scrapping plans for Windows RT devices, slashing prices on models , or even cutting devices from their lineup altogether. Although Microsoft includes Office apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for free on Window RT devices, its inability to run legacy applications in desktop model, the conspicuous absence of Outlook and lack of Windows 8 ‘modern’ apps has dampened sales.

Ultrabook to reach Best Buy on June 23rd, starts from $800

Lenovo has started shipping the IdeaPad Yoga 11S in the United States. The convertible ultrabook is a smaller version of the IdeaPad Yoga 13, opting for an 11.6-inch, 1366x768 touchscreen display instead of the 13-inch version of its larger stablemate, and provides full Windows 8 instead of the Windows RT installed on the Yoga 11.

Lenovo prices IdeaPad Yoga convertible for UK

Base unit to carry $1900 price tag

Lenovo UK has provided firm pricing for its soon to be released crossover IdeaPad Yoga. The entry level Core i5 powered tablet/ultrabook will hit stores at £1,199 ($1,900 USD), while a higher-end Core i7 equipped version will be priced at £1,499 ($2,380 USD). When the company let us test the Yoga at CES back in January, the device carried a lone American starting price of $1,199.
