New dock features dual USB 3.0, eSATA, audio, pass-through Thunderbolt
HighPoint Technologies has launched the "world's first" Thunderbolt 2-powered connectivity dock, the RocketStor 6351A. Each of the dual five-gigabit-per-second USB 3.0 ports and 6Gb per second eSATA port is powered by dedicated controller, allowing for peak speed for connected peripherals. Audio and Gigabit Ethernet ports round out connectivity options, with a pass-through Thunderbolt 2 port to daisy chain up to five devices downstream of the dock.
HighPoint's NA762TB Thunderbolt hardware RAID storage offers flexibility
HighPoint Technologies has released its latest RAID storage device, the NA762TB Thunderbolt. The hardware is configurable to the user's needs, featuring eight removable disk modules that accept any industry-standard 3.5-inch SAS or SATA hard disk, from 5400, 7200 and up to 15000 RPM spindle speeds. Its management suite offers a web-based interface and user-friendly controls that make creating, maintaining and recovering RAID configurations accessible for novice users and versatile for those who are experienced. Compatible with any Thunderbolt-capable computing platform, the NA762TB delivers multi-terabytes of high-performance, hardware RAID storage from a single cable connection. The NA762TB is available from HighPoint and various resellers.
RocketRAID 2680 SAS HBA
HighPoint Technologies has introduced the RocketRAID 2680 SAS host bus adapter (HBA). The company focused on making an adapter with a small form factor measuring only 3.3 inches long, terminating at the end of the PCIe x4 slot. The company claims RAID 5 performance of up to 561MB per second read and 654MB per second write. The device features 8 SAS/SATA ports and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and JBOD with scaling up to 128 devices if an expander is also used.
HighPoint RAID controller
HighPoint Technologies announced today it is releasing the RocketRAID 2644x4 SAS RAID controller card that will deliver throughput speeds as high as 1000MBps and is capable of supporting as many as 128 SAS and SATA hard drives (via SAS expanders from LSI and Vitesse). The controller can connect with up to four PCI-Express busses capable of tranferring data at 1000MBps speeds in both directions at the same time.
HighPoint eSATA RAID
HighPoint Technologies on Wednesday unveiled the RocketRAID 3122 PCI-Express controller card, offering users a low-cost, performance solution for connecting eSATA hard drives to a Mac Pro. The RocketRAID 3122 requires a 1x PCI-express slot, and can use up to 10 daisy-chained drives on two external 3Gb/s eSATA ports. Users can choose between RAID levels 0 and 1. HighPoint is selling the RocketRAID 3122 for $170, available from the company or its various certified resellers.
