Commando, Droid Incredible 2 demo units show
The Casio G’zOne Commando and HTC Droid Incredible demo units have arrived in Verizon stores. Also reportedly in stores ahead of their April 28 launch are the shipping units. While a number of details have slipped about the Droid Incredible 2, less is known about that Casio G’zOne Commando, a ruggedized Android 2.2 smartphone for outdoor adventurers.

Verizon now selling G'zOne Brigade for $250
The rugged Casio G'zOne Brigade handset introduced by Verizon last fall is now on sale at the carrier. The water-, dust- and shock-resistant phone meets the MIL-STD-810F standard for toughness. The device flips open horizontally to reveal a full QWERTY hardware keyboard and a large 2.9-inch screen with a 480x270 resolution.

Casio announces GzOne Brigade rugged PTT phone
Casio is now spreading word of its G'zOne Brigade rugged handset, which has already been introduced by Verizon, suggesting the device is very near a release. Other than its MIL STD-810F compliance which lets it withstand some knocks, temperature extremes and water submersion, the Brigade also features push-to-talk functionality. It's a CDMA handset that supports EVDO Rev. A networks.

G'zOne Rock touts outdoor apps, music
Verizon added a new rugged phone to its slate through the Casio G'zOne Rock. The clamshell is hardened to the military's 810F standards for dust- and waterproofing, shock and temperature but also now has six apps tailored for hiking and other outdoor activities. It uses its GPS both for a distance-aware compass as well as a pedometer; it also has independent apps for the lunar calendar, sunrise/sunset, temperatures and the tides.
