Attack called 'sneaky,' permission to install mod also gave malware permission

A pair of high-profile game modifications to open world title Grand Theft Auto 5 for Windows are infected with malware, straight from the tinkerers. The "Angry Planes" and "No Clip" mods, one of which was featured by gaming enthusiast site Kotaku, have both been confirmed to be infected by a keylogger known as Fade.exe, which is implanted and given permission to run by the user during the process of installing the modification to the game.

Rockstar Games has revealed that open-world crime title Grand Theft Auto V will arrive on next generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18. The long-awaited PC version will be a bit delayed from previous reports, and follow on on January 27, 2015.

Grand Theft Auto V confirmed to be released for next-gen consoles this fall

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto V will be released for play on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One this fall. The upgraded versions will offer improved graphics and technical elements, new gameplay features as well as additional tweaking options. Players who have used GTA Online on the PS3 or Xbox 360 will be able to carry over equivalent progress on the next-generation console versions.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to be released in December for iOS

First released for consoles in 2004, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is set to be launched for iOS in December, according to Rockstar Games. Set in the early 1990s, GTA: San Andreas is centered around Carl "CJ" Johnson, the protagonist, and his involvement in the Grove Street Families gang fighting with the Ballas and Vagos.

Rockstar Games launches GTA V app with map, virtual pet

A companion app for Grand Theft Auto V has launched alongside the game. The free "iFruit" app, currently available for iOS but heading to Android and other phone platforms in the future, allows users to customize vehicles from outside the game, as well as a second app offering a manual and digital map for the game. A virtual pet, in the form of Chop the Dog, will reward players that look after it with in-game bonuses.
