Origin PC sells Millennium, Genesis cases to celebrate its five-year anniversary
Custom computer builder Origin PC is celebrating its five-year anniversary, kicking it off with a special sale to commemorate the occasion. Origin PC announced that it's giving consumers the chance to buy the custom computer cases used for its Millennium and Genesis desktops for a limited time. Both cases feature Origin PC's industrial design and variable mounting, which allows the system parts to be configured in four different ways that include standard, 90-degree and inverted mounting options.
Genesis Photonics might supply Apple TV components
Apple's much-rumored TV set might have had one of its first non-obvious part suppliers named through new tips. Contacts claimed to Digitimes that Genesis Photonics was expected to supply the LED backlighting circuitry for a Sharp-made panel. The Japanese company is believed to have switched some of its ordering from local firm Nichia to Taiwan's Genesis as far back as the first half of 2011, making Genesis' contribution to Apple more likely.
PS Vita runs Genesis mutiple layers deep
Attempts to get unofficial PS Vita code running took their next step this weekend after video proof emerged of Sony's system running Sega Genesis games. Picodrive, the offshoot of a competition for a classic console emulator on the PSP, can run games like the Sonic series on the Vita using the official PSP emulator and the Half Byte Loader. It doesn't yet run perfectly and is plagued by stuttering sound, although video performance is very smooth.
