The Spring top 100 edition of the ForeSee e-retailer satisfaction index has been released. Notable findings are Amazon leading at 89 percent, besting Apple by four percentage points. Newegg trails Apple by three points while Netflix is recovering some lost ground after several summer public relations and marketing disasters. The survey is the result of 21,000 responses from visitors to the top 100 retail websites by revenue.
ForeSee late Tuesday gave the nod to technology-driven online shops for satisfaction with online shopping during the holidays. Amazon led the group with a new high of 88 points. A one-point climb by Apple was enough to put it at a new high of 83 and a five-way tie with Avon, QVC, VistaPrint, and JC Penney, now headed by Apple's former retail VP Ron Johnson.
Lodsys faced the consequences of its actions again Monday after the New York Times Company and OpinionLab both sued Lodsys (below) to invalidate its patents. Similar to the lawsuit from ForeSee, both of the plaintiffs are seeking a declaratory judgment that would at least absolve them of guilt and also nullify the patents themselves. OpinionLab's complaint alleged that Lodsys was violating Illinois fair competition laws and was committing tortious interference by scaring investors away.
