CrushFTP updated to version 6.2, offers many changes, fixes
FTP administration and file-serving software CrushFTP has been updated to version 6.2, building on and addressing issues with the earlier release that moved the program entirely to a web-based interface and introduced client applications, multimedia support, PGP encryption, multiple admin capability and more. The new update offers many changes and improvements, and fixes numerous bugs. The CrushSync real-time sync engine has been redesigned to use the web interface, and CrushTask has been extensively improved.

CrushFTP updates to version 6.1, adds S3, HTML5 support
Developer Ben Spink has updated his flagship file transfer server software, CrushFTP, to version 6.1. The new version offers a handful of major new features along with many interface tweaks and speed improvements, along with the usual assortment of bug fixes. The program, which handles FTP and SFTP file transfer along with HTTP and WebDAV, has now added Amazon's S3 protocol as a support transfer option and is compatible with Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8).

Cyberduck FTP updated to 4.1 with new WebDAV engine
Popular open-source FTP program Cyberduck has been updated to version 4.1, bringing with it an all-new WebDAV protocol implementation, increased compatibility with cloud storage service Cloudfront, support for trackpad gestures for navigation and selection for the Mac version, and IPv6 and numerous small interface improvements for the Windows version.

Drops makes server uploading drag-and-drop easy
German developer Christian Kienle has released a new menubar application called Drops, a simple FTP uploader that can manage multiple accounts, copies the resulting web URL to the clipboard automatically, can shorten the web URL using bit.ly, and can even be set to automatically zip files and folders before uploading.

FTP file manager ForkLift v2 released
BinaryNights has released Forklift 2 (v2.0.3), its FTP and file manager software that has been completely rewritten for speed and stability as well as a host of new features, including a Transfer Queue, Coverflow view, a Favorites Manager and both Synclets (buttons to activate manual syncing) and Disklets (remote volumes mounted as local Finder drives, so they are accessible from any application) among others. Version 2.0.3 corrects minor flaws and other bugs.

Interarchy 10 adds plug-ins, SCP support, introduces iFTP
Nolobe has unveiled Interarchy 10, updating the Mac file-transfer software today. The FTP client and download manager supports a number of File Transfer Protocols, like FTP over SSH, FTP/SSL-TLS, SFTP, HHTP and HHTPS. It also supports file transfers via WebDAV and WebDAVS and Amazon's S3.

Rumpus 6.2 adds Growl support, new iPhone interface
Maxum Develipment on Monday released Rumpus 6.2, the latest version of its FTP program for Mac. The update features an improved iPhone interface for simpler navigation and media viewing, as well as an integrated “Drop Ship” function which enables users to send e-mails containing URLs directed to download links. New search capabilities can find files either by name or content. The function is powered by SpotLight and protects users against unauthorized access to personal data.

Zevrix intros File Courier data delivery software
Zevrix Solutions has announced a new media delivering software, File Courier 1.0. The app is designed to improve the efficiency of sending files and folders via FTP or between local destinations. Automatic e-mail notifications, containing delivery info, can be sent to recipients, while a variety of customizable templates can be used to present the items and locations. Users can also encrypt disk images with passwords, or create low resolution versions of PDF files that can be attached to an e-mail.

CyberDuck 3.2.1 (free) is an open source FTP and SFTP (SSH Secure File Transfer) browser licensed under the GPL. The application features integration with external editors, as well as support for many Mac OS X system technologies such as Spotlight, Bonjour, the Keychain, and AppleScript. Features added to the new release include: the ability to create placeholder objects, the option to enable Bucket Access Logging and CloudFront Access Logging, an updated Info window, and more. FTP Maker 1.4 ($30) is a tool that helps users create a custom FTP Uploader package to be distributed to employees/customers/co-workers for simplifying the process of sending files to an FTP server. The generated package contains all of the connection parameters meaning the user does not have to manually set them up. Version 1.5 has added a new log feature along with a new parametric prefix for creating a single zip file with custom prefix. Cirrus creates Lightning-headphone dev kit
Apple supplier Cirrus Logic has introduced a MFi-compliant new development kit for companies interested in using Cirrus' chips to create Lightning-based headphones, which -- regardless of whether rumors about Apple dropping the analog headphone jack in its iPhone this fall -- can offer advantages to music-loving iOS device users. The kit mentions some of the advantages of an all-digital headset or headphone connector, including higher-bitrate support, a more customizable experience, and support for power and data transfer into headphone hardware. Apple Store app offers Procreate Pocket

The Apple Store app for iPhone, which periodically rewards users with free app gifts, is now offering the iPhone "Pocket" version of drawing app Procreate for those who have the free Apple Store app until July 28. Users who have redeemed the offer by navigating to the "Stores" tab of the app and swiping past the "iPhone Upgrade Program" banner to the "Procreate" banner have noted that only the limited Pocket (iPhone) version of the app is available free, even if the Apple Store app is installed and the offer redeemed on an iPad. Porsche adds CarPlay to 2017 Panamera
Porsche has added a fifth model of vehicle to its CarPlay-supported lineup, announcing that the 2017 Panamera -- which will arrive in the US in January -- will include Apple's infotainment technology, and be seen on a giant 12.3-inch touchscreen as part of an all-new Porsche Communication Management system. The luxury sedan starts at $99,900 for the 4S model, and scales up to the Panamera Turbo, which sells for $146,900. Other vehicles that currently support CarPlay include the 2016 911 and the 2017 models of Macan, 718 Boxster, and 718 Cayman. Apple employees testing wheelchair features
New features included in the forthcoming watchOS 3 are being tested by Apple retail store employees, including a new activity-tracking feature that has been designed with wheelchair users in mind. The move is slightly unusual in that, while retail employees have previously been used to test pre-release versions of OS X and iOS, this marks the first time they've been included in the otherwise developer-only watchOS betas. The company is said to have gone to great lengths to modify the activity tracker for wheelchair users, including changing the "time to stand" notification to "time to roll" and including two wheelchair-centric workout apps. http://bit.ly/2955JDa

SanDisk reveals two 256GB microSDXC cards
SanDisk has introduced two 256GB microSDXC cards. Arriving in August for $150, the Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Premium Edition card offers transfer speeds of up to 95MB/s for reading data. The Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card can read at a fast 100MB/s and write at up to 90MB/s, and will be shipping sometime in the fourth quarter for $200. http://bit.ly/294Q1If

Apple's third-quarter results due July 26
Apple has advised it will be issuing its third-quarter results on July 26, with a conference call to answer investor and analyst queries about the earnings set to take place later that day. The stream of the call will go live at 2pm PT (5pm ET) via Apple's investor site, with the results themselves expected to be released roughly 30 minutes before the call commences. Twitter stickers slowly roll out to users
Twitter has introduced "stickers," allowing users to add extra graphical elements to their photos before uploading them to the micro-blogging service. A library of hundreds of accessories, props, and emoji will be available to use as stickers, which can be resized, rotated, and placed anywhere on the photograph. Images with stickers will also become searchable with viewers able to select a sticker to see how others use the same graphic in their own posts.
