Conference focuses on enterprise, admin topics
MacWorld conference organizers IDG have posted a schedule of technical sessions for the MacIT conference of MacWorld 2011, taking place January 27-29, 2011 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The conference is aimed at Mac-using IT professionals, network engineers and enterprise staff with a focus on security, OS X deployment, network and storage management, IT fundamentals for those new to the field and iOS integration.

We have posted a review of the Bookendz Docking Station for 13" MacBook, which replicates all the ports on your MacBook and adds a hub for the USB devices, which gives you five USB 2.0 ports. The hub has its own power supply to add power to the extra USB ports and a green LED on the top of the dock indicates the power is working properly. You do not have to use the power supply, if your peripherals do not require power.

Photoshop World
Advance registration has begun for the Photoshop World Conference, an educational event sponsored by Adobe Systems and produced by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). This year's conference features more than 100 in-depth classes taught by 40 top industry experts -- including Scott Kelby, Dave Cross, Katrin Eismann, Bert Monroy, Fay Sirkis, Joe McNally, Dan Margulis, Jeff Schewe, David Ziser, and more. Photoshop World Conference & Expo advance registration is $600 by February 29th for the general public and $700 afterward; NAPP member advance registration is $500 before February 29th and $600 afterward. Special pricing is also available for students, educators, and alumni of Photoshop World.

Fujitsu to demo scanner
Fujitsu has promised to showcase its newest ScanSnap Scanner for Mac at the Macworld 2008 Conference and Expo from January 14-18 in San Francisco, CA. The company also said it will announce a forthcoming device to address the mobile document imaging needs of the Mac community. Fujitsu's new ScanSnap S510M is one of the only single-pass duplex automatic document feeder (ADF) scanners available today for the Apple community, according to the company, and comes bundled with ABBYY FineReader 3.0 optical character recognition (OCR) software. Live demonstrations of the S510M will take place at booth no. S308.

Six new iPhone accessories
Newer Technology (NewerTech) today unveiled its new NewerTech iPhone Accessory Line consisting of six devices, and promised to showcase the accessories at Macworld Expo in San Francisco later this month. NewerTech's new iPhone accessories include its iPhone Speaker Dock & Hands-Free Mic ($35, shown at right), Hands-Free Mic & Earbuds ($20), iPhone Mic Extender Cable ($15), Bass Response Earbuds ($20), iPhone Headphone Jack Adapter ($8), and its iPhone and iPod Auto Charger ($13).

Axiotron ships Modbook
Axiotron has begun shipping its Modbook tablet Mac, a modified MacBook with a built-in Wacom digitized pen-sensitive liquid crystal display. The only Mac-based tablet on the market won the Best of Show award at Macworld Expo 2007 after debuting at the event. The Modbook features a 2.0GHz or 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Inkwell handwriting recognition software, a 24x DVD combo or 8x DVD SuperDrive, GPS support, and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Modbooks start at $2,300 and include a 1-year warranty.

Macworld Special Features
Macworld Expo 2008 in San Francisco is going to have many events for users to participate in this year, with three Feature Presentations, 150 training conferences, and several other notable events. Macworld VP Paul Kent told MacNN that The Feature Presentations consist of the Macworld Magazine "Best of Show" awards on Wednesday afternoon, while Thursday morning holds David Pogue's "Macworld Live", and Thursday afternoon will see Andy Ihnatko's "The Process of Elimination" game show. All Feature Presentations will be accessible to registered Macworld Expo attendees.
